Laboratory host and partners

Originally the project Guerre&Po was hosted by the Centre d’Études Africaines (CEAF) under the supervision of the EHESS.

On 1 January 2014, the Institut des Mondes Africains (IMAF) was created by merging the Centre d’études africaines (CEAF) with the Centre d’histoire sociale de l’Islam méditerranéen (CHSIM). The IMAF is known as one of the leading French laboratories on African studies, along with Les Afriques dans le monde (LAM), former Centre d’étude d’Afrique noire (CEAN).

The project Guerre&Po has now partnered administratively and scientifically with IMAF – a joint research unit (UMR 8171) kept under six joint supervisions, including the EHESS, which coordinates all activities from the site Raspail, under Jean-Paul Colleyn.

The Émergence(s) programme
Ville de Paris 2012

The research project Guerre&Po is a laureate of the programme Émergence(s) Ville de Paris 2012. Guerre&Po is one of the ten laureates (excluding medical research) and one of the four major human science projects to have been selected. Led by a team of young researchers, the project was selected by a group of experts for its innovative and original dimension. It has been funded by the Mairie de Paris for a duration of three years. The project will end in November 2016 as it was granted a 1-year extension for use of the allocated funds.
